Civil Engineering
We Create the World

"Scientists investigate that which already is; Engineers create that which has never been." - Albert Einstein, Physicist.

Civil Engineering is the mother of all Branches of Engineering. As Civil Engineering is the segment of the engineering profession that provides the basic engineering need of the nation, this department is making efforts in totality at SNGE, in theory as well as in practical to educate the students in this perspective. The department is now fully equipped with following labs:

  • Building Material Testing Lab,
  • Concrete Lab,
  • Hydraulics Lab
  • Modern Survey Lab
  • Highway Engineering Lab
  • PHE Lab
  • Soil Mechanics & Foundation Lab
  • Irrigation Engineering Lab
  • Transportation Engineering Lab.

The addition of CAD Drawing and CAD Design enable to compete with latest global trends in Civil Engineering discipline.

A very distinguished faculty is working with great zeal for teaching, research, and consulting activities. The faculty is making continuous effort by exploring new frontiers of knowledge imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students. The field visits to Real Estate and Infrastructure Constructions are value additions to facilitate the practical feel of the subject. The students of pre final year have been taken to Extensive survey camp as a part of curriculum to gain field experience.

Many domestic and abroad design and construction companies have started functioning in India. They undertake analysis, design and construction of high rise buildings, residential buildings, industrial buildings and infrastructures which include construction of roads, bridges etc. These companies generally absorb Civil Engineers/final year students through the campus interview/walk-ins.

The increased consciousness about Environmental Protection has increased the employment opportunities for the aspirants of this field. Private and public sector firms, consultancies, R & D organizations, Mines and Chemical manufacturing units, Distilleries, Fertilizer units are some of the fields where Civil Engineers are employed.
